Happy New Year! One of my goals for 2018 is to start a blog. It was only fitting that I started with this amazing session from western Kansas. I loved getting to know Katie and Connor. I knew they were a very well liked couple (who couldn't like this sweet couple that would give you the shirt off their backs?). When I walked into their reception, I knew that western Kansas agreed. In 5 years of being a wedding photographer, I have never had a reception in Park, KS with that many guests! It was an amazing sight to see!
We took Katie and Connor's engagement pictures at Monument Rocks near Scott City and Oakley, KS. It was only fitting that we took some of their wedding pictures there also.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from their engagement session and wedding pictures at Monument Rocks. It rained on their wedding day and the day of their wedding shoot, there were tornadoes all over western Kansas! We battled the winds and got some pretty amazing clouds. Luckily the tornadoes and hail waited until after our session was over. One perk with the wind was that it did some pretty amazing things with Katie's dress and veil. Usually we have to manually toss the dress and veil, but thanks to the wind, we got some amazing looks naturally. I also loved that in some of the pictures, the clouds look like they made a formation that resembled Monument Rocks.
Congratulations Connor and Katie, I wish you lots of love and happiness!
If you are interested in booking your wedding or portrait session, I would love to talk to you more! My studio is near Manhattan, Kansas but I love traveling and capturing unique artwork and images for my clients.
